Newcomb Cleveland Hall and
Carr Laboratory

[Carr Laboratory]

History

Built in 1955, the Newcomb Cleveland Hall and Carr Laboratory was funded through Mr. Cleveland's bequest. The laboratory was named for distinguished chemistry professor Emma Perry Carr, class of 1902. I had no images of the Newcomb Cleveland Hall and Carr Laboratory in my collection, so I took these photos on September 7, 1998. I have since added a postcard to my collection:

Carr Laboratory
front Untitled
back Divided back, postmarked Oct 2-, 1972. "Carr Chemistry Laboratory Mt. Holyoke College South Hadley, Mass." Published by Bromley and Company, Inc., Boston 16, Mass. The lack of a zip code implies this postcard was published before 1963. #MA-1396 and #56320. "Dear Carrie. Having a nice time with the family. Had a little snow last evening. Will be home next week. Mid."
