The Susie Lawson Letters
History
These letters were written in 1895-1898, while Susie is at college in South Hadley. Most frequently, she is writing to her sister Mary, but in some cases the envelope is missing and the recipient ("dear friends") is unclear. I suspect that in those cases, she sent the letters to her family in general. Her mother had passed away in 1885, but her father was still alive when these letters were written.
