Tuesday evening

Dear Mom & Dad,

What a day! I've never met so many new people or been in so many new places in my life. But I just love it!

"Edgie" (Mary) and I are getting along very well. Our room looks swell so far. Her father bought us an easy chair which we are planning to slipcover (That should be interesting!) How are the bedspreads coming? We have some travel posters on the walls right now that Edgie brought. Do you know what happened to those posters I brought home to Tom from Germany? If you can find them, send them along.

Wednesday A.M.

Today we have almost nothing to do. Yesterday I had a tour of the library and a physical, complete with posture pictures. My speech test isn't until next Tuesday.

We started waiting tables yesterday and are they ever fussy! I had to wait on the head table last night. I sure was nervous but nothing serious happened. I guess it isn't bad when you get used to it.

Would you look around home for my fountain pen? I thought I brought it but can't find it anywhere.

We have a great bunch of kids in our dorm. Jeannie Romig is just around the corner & Joanne Prestcott is down the hall from her. We saw Nancy Nutting and Mrs. last night. She is in Pearsons.

How do you like this jazzy stationary? I could hae typed this but I never thought of it until I had started.

The latest addition to our room is a "Pogomobile" (a mobile about the comic character, Pogo) that Edgie brought and we put together yesterday. It has become quite an attraction.

My loafers gave out last night. The sole is coming off & one is ripping. I can probably have them fixed.

I guess we were quite lucky in getting the room that we did. Some of the kids have "temp doubles" which are singles made over & are really horrible.

Yesterday we had an English test - vocabulary & reading comprehension. The reading comp was easy but the vocabulary was a nightmare! Last night we had an address by Pres. Ham on the history of the college. Awfully long!

Well, I could go on & on but I'd better stop now. I'll write again soon.

Love,
Liz

P.S. Please write.

P.P.S. I'm taking hockey for my fall gym course, skiing for winter, & tennis in the spring.
