January 12, 1955Dear Mom & Dad,
The package arrived today and many thanks for the brownies. They sure did disappear fast.
Edgy wants a picture of me. I think I left one of my yearbook pictures on my desk. Could you send it up?
We got our source themes back today. He didn't say too much on mine but they were good comments, no criticism which is unusual.
At the moment I'm sitting bells - 2 hrs. for me & 2 hrs. for Edgy as she has a blue book tomorrow. It's a long, boring stretch.
We had a class meeting today & got to see our class rings. They are really good looking. If we want them, we have to order them & put on a $10 deposit next Tuesday. They are $18.95 alltogether. [sic] I would love one for a birthday present. (hint).
I still haven't decided what I'll do between semesters. I've had several irons in the fire. First, Edgy's brother was going to drive up Sat. morning (29th) & take us skiing but then couldn't make it so Edgy is going home. Then Jo Prescott & I wanted to go skiing for the weekend but now I don't know if we'll make it. I'll let you know just what's happening & when. I'll probably need permission (written) to go skiing but I don't know for sure.
I got a letter from Mr. Rose (Camp Chateaugay) today. He sure didn't waste any time. the letter was dated Jan. 7 and I only wrote him on the 2nd. I'm enclosing it but please send it back soon. [no longer with the letter] I'll need another picture (top left-hand desk drawer) He sounds quite interested but I don't think there's too much of a hurry about answering it.
We were talking today about summer waitress jobs. Can you remember the names of any of those places where Nancy H. & Esther & Sandy worked? I couldn't. One of the kids is interested in that sort of thing but either on the Cape or in New Jersey. They both sound rather far away. Jeannie is going to try for a job in the bank while she's home.
Guess that is it for now. Write soon & love to all.
P.S.
We're doing a little trig in Math class & it sure seems easy. I only got 3- on my last Art Blue Book. Quite disappointing. Everyone's worried about exams. They count an awful lot.
