Thursday evening

Dear Mom & Dad,

Well, exams are over for me & is it ever a great feeling! Our math exam was this afternoon and it was actually simple. We were all really worried about it because the baby math exams are supposed to be really horrible but there was nothing to it. Of course, almost everyone thought it was easy so the curve will be high so although I know of only one part of one question that I missed, I'm not counting on a really high mark but I am hoping for a 2.

German on Tuesday wasn't quite so easy. I can't tell what I'll get. We had only three questions - an fairly easy comprehension question to be answered in English, ten sentences to write in German and then a composition on life in a small German village that we have been reading about & discussing in lab.

We had a wonderful time skiing Sunday. It was a perfect day & Hogback is a great place. I learned quite a bit (mostly in theory) & hope to do mostly practicing next Sunday. Also - It didn't cost as much as I expected. Pleasant surprise.

Was very interested in all the various weddings & engagements. I think Gudrun's was an engagement announcement, rather than wedding. The guy Joan Francis is engaged to is the one she was going out with the summer I worked at Jamesville.

Glad to hear that Tom passed everything. Tell him he ought to be able to get more than 65 from Mme. Lannigan just by smiling sweetly occasionally. If this arrives before the interview Sat. Good Luck!!! Let me know the results as soon as you find out.

Don't know Sue Manning personally. Isn't she at Skidmore? Jeannie left yesterday afternoon.

Betty Koch (freshman from Larchmount) & I have been made chairmen of publicity for the song contest which takes place in Feb. Every dorm writes & presents a song. Lots of spirit & all. Don't know quite how we got the job but shouldn't be bad at all. They don't usually have freshmen in that capacity.

Guess that's all for now. Write soon.

Love,
Liz

P.S.
Did I tell you that Sandy's going up to Dartmouth Winter Carnival with Bill Curry?
Also - Marybet's been home sick with hepititus. [sic] Isn't that what Mrs. Sinclair had?
