A Letter Written on May 2, 1955

Monday P.M.

Dear Mom & Dad,

A really quick note because it's now midnight. Got your letter this morning. I've been thinking - you really won't miss anything if you don't get here for that German class. All we do on Saturday is read. If you spent Friday night at Bowies' you'd have to make an awfully early start to make Holyoke by 10. Why don't you just plan to get here for lunch?

When you bring up the dresses & extra cotton skirts, could you also bring my red halter, white straw belt (in the back of my closet), my white jewelry (especially the choker of big white beads) & the black velvet belt to my gray print dress if it's around?

Our English paper has been put off until Friday which is really worse for me. - With two blue books. The paper is done but I still have to type it. Can't wait til this week ends. I had to quit the canoe crew as SGA Nom Com has started meetings & I just didn't have the time.

Took Sat. afternoon & evening off - saw Baseball game & track meet at Amherst, went to a Barbeque & later to a "Nassau Party" at the DKE house. (Just a fancy name for bermuda shorts & an excuse for potted palms & fish nets) It was really great & my date was very nice. 6' 3" & a freshman from Wash. D.C.

We get our class rings tomorrow. There is a presentation in the afternoon. If I think of anything else I'll need, I'll write. See you Sat.

Love,
Liz
