A Letter Written on Jul 16, 1955

Camp Chateaugay
Merrill, N.Y.

Saturday

Dear Mom & Dad,

I received your letter yesterday but as we were just leaving on a climbing trip I didn't get to read it until we reached the top of Panther Mountain. I wrote Joyce this afternoon. Naturally I was very disappointed but I guess I can live without seeing her wedding and, as you said, the people there will be mostly family friends.

Our climb up Panther was great - rather hot as it was a muggy day but the kids were great. We're going on an overnight this Monday which should also be fun.

My day off is tomorrow and Ann Hatch and I are going to canoe over to Tanager Lodge - she to see her brother & I want to see Ellie & Nancy besides seeing their camp.

My sneakers are giving out. Do you suppose you could get me another pair - size 9 in many - Dey's have them - & bring them up?

I've decided to take next Sunday off so I'll be able to spend a little more time with you. Otherwise I would be pretty busy. I'd love to eat out - I'll inquire about places. About what time would you get here?

Is Tom home now? And how is his packing coming?

There's the bell for the Sat. nite square dance Must run -

Love,
Liz
