Camp Chateaugay
Merrill, N.Y.Wednesday
Dear Mom & Dad,
This won't go out until tomorrow (Sat) so maybe I'd better call you Sunday night.
Complications on next week. Upper Camp is going to Montreal Monday & they would like all the counselors who aren't going to take that day off. I could get Wed. off instead but Martin Engle, the waterfront director & I have wanted to go rock climbing same day & this will be our only opportunity to be off on the same day. If you can be here late Tuesday afternoon, Pete will probably let me go out for dinner &, if I'm lucky, spend the evening with you. I don't know what you had planned to do after you leave here but you could be around Wed too & see the camp in action. I don't know how this plan will sit with you & if you want to spend all day Wed. with you I can take that day off (or you can spend the day here & I can be with you when I'm not assigned) - what ever you think. Anyway, I'll call Sunday evening.
Your letter just arrived with Miss Voorhees' offer. Needless to say, I'll accept. I wasn't looking forward to waiting tables at all but the work chairman is usually a senior so I didn't think I had a chance.

Wednesday evening
Just dashed a letter off to Miss Voorhees. Will now continue where I left off.
My kids are shaping up after a lecture from Lil and Aaron. I think they may actually be pulling together by the end of the summer. I sure hope so, anyway.
Dick Sherwood is driving up from Massena Sunday night with two of his friends and I got dates for them. I only wish I could get off before 9:30 but hate to ask that two evenings in one week. I'd better not push my luck too far even if I don't plan to return next year.
Not much else of import. Was very shocked to hear of Mrs. Goldstein's death. Neal Brown's parents were up over the weekend and they knew of it then.
I'll call Sunday evening and will see you Tuesday.
Love,
Liz
