A Letter Written on Jul 22, 1956

Camp Chateaugay

Sunday evening

Dear Mom & Dad,

A rainy Sunday evening & we're in the Big House listening to records & writing letters. "Rhapsody in Blue" is playing now - Alec Templeton.

Don't remember when I last wrote you - whether it was before or after our overnight Tuesday night. Anyway - it was a complete & total failure. We have great hopes for a better next hike.

By the way, what would you think if I were to invest in a small, light, but warm sleeping bag? I saw some in the Army-Navy store in Malone. Tom's is so heavy & isn't really very warm.

Tomorrow is Capture the Flag Day - a big event around here. All day is devoted to the game with 1 hr. out for lunch & the entire camp is divided into two teams. This is to be followed by a Lazy-Man's Day on Tuesday - everyone can sleep late & the kids love it.

Saw Mr. & Mrs. Hatch the day before yesterday.

Guess that's it for now.

Love,
Liz
