A Letter Written on Oct 4, 1956

Mount Holyoke College South Hadley Massachusetts

Thursday

Dear Mom & Dad,

This will be short but at least it's a letter! Rehearsals are in full swing. Just came back from a 7-11 one this evening. It will begin to take shape soon but even then, the script isn't exactly excellent. However the songs are good & that should improve it a lot.

The big mountain trip to Mahoosucs is off until November [after show] but Edgy & I are still planning to go to Pinkham [Mt. Washington again] Notch for the weekend. I sure need a change of pace for a couple of days.

My major is all changed & I'm out of that Religion class & into a History of the Eng. Language course. Very interesting - our assignment for today was learning an Old English declension! My courses are all really interesting. Love Philosophy & Religious Problems class is fascinating. Exposition is a lot of work but I enjoy writing so it's no strain. My history professor is quite a character & his classes are really great. Also - Modern Architecture, which I'm auditing is very interesting.

The work schedule is all set & I can almost forget about being work chairman.

Bedtime & I must pack for ye olde mountain climb.

Let me know about Show weekend.

Also - when you come - can you bring the name banner for my jacket. Something else - do we want to sell that old sleeping bag? If so, I have a customer.

Love,
Liz
