Monday night
Dear Mom & Dad,
The birthday box arrived this afternoon & I managed to hold off opening it until I got back from the "Libe" tonight. That was around ten and tonight's supper was a "cause dinner." Anyway, pangs of hunger were gnawing - the cookies were crumbs but they sure tasted good!
The blouse & slip both fit perfectly! I don't know how you managed it. And I like that leather belt better than any straw one. It'll last longer, too. And I sure was surprised to find the check for the sweater. Going sweater shopping tomorrow - in my sharp new shirt!
I've been really hitting the books since vacation. Except for Sunday night when Les came up with with one of his roommates. I fixed him up with Ceci Hobbie, the cute dark-haired freshman from Buffalo who was in the bus station. We had dinner in an Italian restaurant in Northampton & went to a concert on campus - the Julliard String Quartette which was suberb very fine. Ceci & Bill hit it off very well & we all had lots of fun.
Neal Brown from Chateaugay, now at Hamilton was here Saturday & I got him a date with one of the sophomores. It was good to see him if only for a little while.
We have yearbook pictures taken this week - mine's tomorrow. Doesn't seem possible that we're almost seniors.
It's been snowing here all day long - what an April!
I know there were other things I wanted to tell you but can't think of them now. As you can probably tell from my handwriting, I'm beat. Been reading about the origins of World War I all afternoon & evening.
Will send watchband & skirt to be mended tomorrow.
Many thanks for presents - I don't feel 21.
Love,
Liz
Rooming still on the fire. I think I'll move with Mel & Lee unless they go to the Mandelles which are lovely dorms but quite a ways from the library where I'll be spending much time next year. It'll all be decided next week.
