Dear Lucy:-
Here I am in Boston, came Wednesday on the electrics as far as Fitchburg then the steam cars to Concord and then the electrics onto Boston. It made a nice trip. Thursday it rained in the forenoon so I did not go out till afternoon. Yesterday I went to Hingham and spent the day with Mrs Downey. Saw her mother and she was telling how she went to a convention and then they had an excursion to Mt Holyoke College, Amherst & Smith about two weeks ago I think it was.
I am to get you some Union Suits while I am here. Do you want those that open on the shoulder as mine do or would you rather have them open right down the front[.] Those that open down the front are full as convenient at certain times as those on the shoulder. Miss Coolidge always has these. Let me know at once as I think I shall start back Wednesday, so let me hear by return mail if you only write a few words.
Now another thing you know I always intend to take you and Mary something when I go home from Boston. As you are not there I shall send you some thing, and as you are away I dont know what you would like[.] I wondered if you would like a pr of gloves like those Mary had last Christmas. That is, what kind. If so what color? or would you like, some other kind of gloves - or some kind of cap, or something for your neck. Now I want you should write, because I shall send something and it is better to send what you want or need than something you dont care for[.]
Have got a little coin purse for your mother & am going to get Mary a Tam o shanter. (dont know how to spell that.)
Now please write by return mail so I will get it Tuesday as Mrs. Derby has invited me to go to Concord and spend Wednesday night & I shall go from there home.
Cant stop to write more now. With lots of love from Aunt Carrie.
