Templeton, Feb. 10, 1904.Dear Lucy,
I will write just a few lines to you to tell you sad news again. Uncle Isaac received a letter from Lester last night saying that Aunt Ann died yesterday morning. Her death was very unexpected, she had been having a slight cold, but had been about the house and had done most of her work. Monday she had a pain in her stomach and at night had quite a severe attack, they had the Dr. in the morning and he thought there was nothing alarming, he had been gone only a few minutes when Elsie who was in the next room, heard her breathing hard, and she died very soon after she got to her. The funeral is tomorrow, Thursday at 1-30. I have been down there today to see if I could be of any use, but the girls were all at home and thought they did not need me. I am afraid it will affect Uncle Isaac a good deal, coming so soon after Aunt C's death. I must not stop to write as we wish to send this out to-night. In regard to your coming to your Aunt Augusta's funeral, I dont think they thought you would try to come, and they knew I should send you word. I spent the day with your Grandmother & Aunt Mattie yesterday and found them very well. I must stop.
Much love, Mama.
I hope you will find some one to go to the 'prom' with you.
