Dec. 9, 1906-Dear Lucy
I am writing this evening so will write you a short letter mother has spoken a number of times wondering how you were getting along and as we have not heard of your coming home we suppose you are still teaching but I think you might have a better time at home. We have had a cold spell here did it reach you it was so windy here it was very disagreeable[.]
The Ladies have had their Fair last Thurs. & Fri. evenings not the nicest of weather I have heard they made about Fifty Dollars that was very well all things considered will tell you when I see you I am busy making a few things for Christmas have them most complete and the time is fast growing less I suppose you will be home then and we will see you -
We have our milk of Mr. Welk it is here when I get up in the mornings and I will rise at half past six the milk is warm so we know it is new it is nice milk a little more cream than we used to get but Mr. Braithwaite had nice milk[.] This week I intend to clean house a little enough to last till the Spring comes then I must do some sewing while it is cold and bad getting out then be ready to stay out when the warm weather comes[.]
I did some work for the fair I made some candy and three articles for the fancy table it takes a lot of time and Gladys came over to see me when her mother went down to the church to work every little [bit] helps -
Mother has retired and I must hope you will be having a nice time and lots of fun that helps over hard places - Accept with love from us both
