A Letter Written on Dec 31, 1906

748 Asylum Ave.

Dear Miss Baker:

First and foremost thank you for the Christmas Greeting - it pleased me to think you remembered me in the midst of your home pleasure.

I hope you had a very happy Christmas - as you well deserve - and received as gifts "just what you wanted" I did - and in some cases duplicates - three sets of beauty pins, two gold mounted combs for my hair. And rejoice with me! I got my silver watch chain - a dear. I fared most beautifully. My sportive brother-in-law sent me a lovely Persian scarf with the most ridiculous message I will reread it and tell you when I see you.

Yes, I suppose I will see you again for I have not accepted a grand position at $1000 yet. But I hope the months before June will fly, and my work too of course.

When I was riding to the station that Friday I met Jack with dog & gun - and a rabbit - lately extinct - in one hand.

I had a fine time at the Theta luncheon Saturday - quite a grand affair but it helped along my sore throat. I was wretched all the week - am nearly well now.

This is the last letter I shall write this year - do you appreciate the honor - and I will not make it a long one lest I infringe on 1907.

Cordially yours
Helen W. Traver
