Templeton, Mass.,
June 19, 1904.

Dear Sister:-

I have one thousand and one things to say to you and the "inclination to say them is almost irresistable" [sic] but as you are coming home two days after to-morrow I think that I will only say about three of them. What an exciting week the little town of Templeton has had! A fire and a strike! And what foolish motormen and conductors the Templeton Street Railway has or rather had for I suppose they are working for the railroad no longer! We girls have got a great deal of fun out of the strike in ways too numerous to mension. [sic] Among them Thursday night we had a free ride almost over to Otter River Station to meet a man. We call that an accomodation [sic] train.

I thought that it was dreadful Thurs. night that the only car that was running on the railroad should be labeled "Special." Wasn't that dreadful? It was the car for the banquet of the class of '04. I am going to stay at Mary Priest's graduation night. So you may imagine me in my white dress which is as good as new, with my new white lace collar which Cousin Hattie made and (last but no[t] least) my new low shoes. I have several other new things for that night. Don't you think that it would be a good plan for you to put whatever you get for Mama and Auntie in your dress suit case so that we could be sure and present them Wed. night if cousin Hattie isn't here? She may be here and she may not. You ought to see my new pink dress!
