Dear Miss Baker: Just a hasty line to tell you that you will undoubtably have the pleasure (?) of seeing my smiling countenance back in New Salem about Mar. 26. I shall write again just what time I am coming that is, if you reply to this little note. Mamma thought I was not well enough to start in in a new school etc. She thought I needed more of a vacation than I should have if I went there anyway. I agreed with her, for altho I feel a lot better than I did then, I really am far from well and feel the need of a rest.We had a supper and entertainment in the church parlors Fri. eve. Of course I had to take part in the tableaus. We had great sport and took in about $100. also. Pretty good wasn't it? Next Fri. eve. the No. Brookfield Grange give a drama 'Oak Farm' in the Town Hall here.
I am going home with Emma today to stay a few days. She is here now and hence this hasty note.
Please remember me to all my friends. Hope you and the girls are enjoying life. I shall be glad to hear from you whenever you have time to write to my insignificant self.
This week has been a very short one and probably next week will pass more rapidly still. I hope to visit Miss Watson's school this week[.]
Have you been down to play Flinch with Mr. T.?
Wonder if you have been able to keep warm up there. It has been about all we could do here especially the last few days.
Now I will say 'goodbye' x x (silly?) Please excuse all mistakes and blunders for I am in a desperate hurry.
Sincerely your friend,
Olive F. Bliss.Feb. 24, '07.
C.B. has not written just when he can come, but I expect him next Sat. Won't that be jolly? "Au Revoir - Tanks." Emma sends love to you.
