A Letter Written on Dec 16, 1906

Dec. 16, 1906.

Dear Sister:-

I shall not write much of a letter because firstly, you owe me for two already, secondly, I haven't much to say, thirdly, I haven't much time to say it in, fourthly, I have some other letters to write and lastly I shall see you before long. I am wondering whether you went to Athol yesterday. Have you gots the muffler for Mama yet? I was telling Auntie about it and she thought we could get a better one at a much less price if we got it and made it. I could hemstitch it after Xmas but not before. If you have got it, all right; if not you can think about that.

Auntie was telling me to-day what she is going to get for Mama. When she was looking for sauce dishes last year Mr. Greenwood showed her some dishes which he said you could always match. The stock is always on hand. So Auntie thought that she could get perhaps some tea plates, then some other time some of us could get something else. So if you & I wanted to get something besides the muffler we could get a cup & saucer or two.

We couldn't very well come up & see you yesterday at Athol for the car is still up in that neighborhood which went up last Monday. The freight engine has been up three days now but the car has not yet returned.

John Brooks & Mr. Robinson came down yesterday to do some work & among other things moved the piano into the front parlor, so I don't expect to have to freeze now. I had a letter from Miss Clark Tues she didn't say much only that she was very busy & very quiet & thought most of the time about '06. I want to leave a little room so if I think of anything else.

The car came down about 8 this A.M. and they are running to Athol.

Mama says that unless there is something special you needn't expect to hear from her.
