[Some paragraph marks added for ease of reading.]Dear Lucy:
It is seven o'clock, I haven't had my supper, and I have just written six pages to Luella and I dont feel much like writing to you. Everything is going swimming at school. That is we are swimming in mixups and conflicts. There is a Lynch in the Prep. Do you suppose he is John Lynch's brother? He doesn't look anything like him for he is very light. I saw John Lynch up at the Fair. He was with Elsie of course. He didn't take part in anything.
The Grange Team went to Hubbardston Cattle Show Friday and got the first prize. They too had the same wagon they had up here with an arrangement something like ours on it and trimmed in green and white. Cousin Minnie said that Mrs. Brooks and the twins rode on top.
The Redmonds are really going. He saw me yesterday and said that they were going the first of next week. They are going into the Washburn house. He doesn't know whether Mr. Miles will want it or not now the shop is gone but as Mr. Bodgett has turned the people out of the Washburn house so he could have it
sothe Redmonds feelsobliged to go. Frank Akers is rushing things I think. He went out yesterday and got a whole load of boughs to bank up the house I suppose. Kit hasn't been well this past week but he is better now."Carl" went home right after Cattle show and he hasn't come back yet. Isn't it dreadful? Linnie said a day or two ago that she and her mother rather thought that they should go down to Gardner to live this winter if they didn't have any boarders but Mr. Drury but I don't really believe they will. I can't think of anything more.
