Dear Miss Baker:-

As Bertha is writing to you I thought I would write. Friday our school did not keep, because there was a convention at Concord. It rained all day, and I didn't have anything to do, so I went in school up here. I like down town very much. Our teacher's name is Miss Bertha Downs of Francestown.

How do you like your school? I went chesnutting [sic] yesterday forenoon, from Ball Hill to Frank Holland and didn't get only twenty. I don't think there are many this year.

Last year, I went and got two or three quarts.

These last two weeks have been pleasant and warm. I haven't fell in love with Cora yet. They are going to stay here another winter and I dread it.

I suppose there will be skating and sliding before long.

It seems as though the weeks pass quicker now, than they did in the summer I think I will close now.

Good-bye
from your friend
Harold E. Fitch.
