[A paragraph break added for ease of reading]Templeton, Monday forenoon. [April 2, 1906]
Dear Lucy,
This card came this forenoon, so will send it along. [no longer with the letter] I hope Mary reached New Salem all right. I got home all right but was a good while about it. I got on the T-n car and we went just a little over that first hill, and went off the track again. I sat in the car and waited for more than an hour, then a car got there from E- T-n and took us home, where I arrived about 6 instead of 4-30. I don't like to be scared to death twice in one day. There is nothing new since Mary left and she will tell all that happened before.
I think the Parkers kept the minister over Sunday but maybe
ithe was someone else. Mary will be pleased to hear that Lucius came to call on her - he came in but stayed only a very short time. I suspect he did not come to see Uncle or me. He asked when Mary was coming home but I did not know, which is very true. The new teacher is from Topsfield and is to board with Mrs. Meacham. It is very still here with Mary. I must go and get dinner. Much love to you both, if both are there when this gets there.Mama.
