[Some paragraph marks added for ease of reading]Dear Lucy:-
Sunday night I had a million things to say but I can't think of much now. Helen and Bessie got home from walking down with Laura Dion about quarter past eleven. Wasn't that nice? It rained cats and dogs Monday and we got down to the Nower [?] house when they said that there was no shool [sic] so
whenwe came home. While we [were] waiting down there for the car Arthur amused himself by entertaining us by imitating everybody's walk & various other things. It is colder & I don't know as I shall wear my blouse to-morrow. We are reading in Latin the "Roman Power and People". And, by the way, I ought to be reading Latin instead of writing to you so if Mr. Osbourne asks me why I don't know my lesson I shall tell him that I had to write to my big sister. Madge said the other day that she thought that Mr. Kent was in California now in the lumbering business. I must stop for I must go to bed.
With love
Mary.Mea soror a tua parva puella.
