April 20, 1903.Dear Lucy:-
I will write to represent the family. Mama has been so busy that she couldn't write but she will write soon. Cousin Lizzie and Auntie came Saturday. Their train was so late that missed the half past five car and so they walked up. Cousin Frank was up to supper Saturday and Sunday evenings. He said goodbye last night. He is going to start next Monday. Mama says if you are going to have the measles to come home as we have a nurse and a housekeeper here and it would be the best time but don't come unless you are "morally certain" that you have them.
Mr. Wyman Stone died yesterday morning. He was in bed Saturday but they didn't think he was very sick. Gertrude Page and Warren Seaver are getting up a suprise [sic] party for Florence French Wednesday which is her eighteenth birthday. Auntie wants to know if you heard any big words not long ago. She was trying to pump some water for breakfast. Kitty is improving rapidly. We took up the collection for Children's Mission at Sunday School yesterday. We got four dollars and thirty-two cents.
Mr. Drury has just gone over to Mrs. Lamb's. I wonder how long he will stay. I must stop or I shall not get it into the half past eight mail.
With Love
Mary.
