Dear Lucy:-

You really haven't been gone long enough so there is much news. Friday after you had gone Auntie & I cleared up and I studied & had a nap. Yesterday afternoon. Mama & I went over to Otter River & saw four little Stones. Leland had an awful cold. He said that "two eyes were running and one nose wouldn't go" and I think that expressed it. His eyes were just streaming all the time. Margaret is the dearest little thing that ever was. She is very shy. I think that she is the prettiest of them all (all the others have red hair) and she isn't really pretty but she has a sweet little face.

Leland got some steropticon views and he & Margaret and I went out in the dining room to look at them. I wanted her to sit in my lap but she told me that "she is 'fraid to." Leland tried to make her and of course that didn't work but I think that she would have if we had staid longer. When we went into another room to watch for the car Leland thought that he would have some fun so he began tickling me and I had my hands full with him and trying to watch for the car. Was the fudge in a melted condition? I think that your cake was very good as to taste for I have sampled the crusts.

I have only got one side of my handkerchief done & it all ought to be done Sat.!!!! My children are keeping Thanks. Don't they hold out well?

With love
