A Letter Written on Aug 25, 1907

Templeton Aug 25/07

Dear Lucy

As I'm writing letters guess I'll write a few lines to you. Thank you for the card I received. It is very pretty. It must have been beautiful there those moonlight evenings. We thought of you and spoke of your being there at just the right time. As your Mother and Mary have both written you within a few days its not much use for me to try to tell any news. The Lend a-hand dance was quite a success in every way I think. They danced till twelve had more ice cream and cake than they could eat, and most of them had a "dandy" time.

They are going to give the floating hospital twenty-five dollars. (to help it float a little longer) Mary will want to write you about the dance when she writes and as she can do it so much better than I can will let her do it. I will only say Charlie was there, and walked home with us; among the things he wore, was "the smile that wont come off."We have been having some pretty cool days and one or two days it has tried to rain, but has not made out very well, but would be cloudy all day.

Suppose your Mother wrote you about Mrs Lane. Have just been out to interview Persis & she says now, that she thinks she will wash Wednesday and iron Thursday and if she dont change her mind we shall be all right.

Mary and I went to church this morning There were over a hundred people there Did you drink milk the night you had lobster? They say that will make one sick We got a letter for you last night which we will forward. Its from Hartford I think. Your Mother is going to send you a paper Saw Mr Blodgett yesterday. That business may be delayed for a few days.

You and Bessie must be very careful and not get to flirting with any one. Stay as long as you can and have a good time. Keep out of doors all the time.

With love to you both
Carrie A. M.

This is not well written letter. Have been too much interested in the small boy over the way.
