A Letter Written on Jan 6, 1906

Sat. morn. [Jan 6, 1906]

Dear Lucy,

Mary is getting along all right. I am anxious to hear from you. Have you got measles? If not, what are you going to do? Come - have them with me. I think one of the neighbors would take you in till you showed symptoms of them, if you don't want to come where Mary is.

I must put this in the office. Mama -

I will not get this in so will add a word. Have they all had the measles at Dr. Marshalls? Perhaps they would take you in till you found out whether you have them or not. I believe I should ask Miss Marshall if she would take the place, and seems to me I should just say to Mrs. C- that it would be nice if she could - if no one had any objections, she might get some one to do her work.. We will sound Alice Pratt if you like - I don't think it would do any good to ask Miss Blodgett. It probably would not be more than two weeks if you get along well, or not much more. I don't think you ought to go into school next week, for if you have them you will begin soon, I think. It is too bad but it might be worse. I will send this now and write soon again. Very likely neither you nor I will have them.

Much love,
Mama.
