Templeton, Mass.
Apr. 24, 1906.Dear Lucy:-
Thank you for the Easter post-card. It is a very pleasant view. Have you ever been there? And did the bears eat you?
I should have written to you before, but, O, dear, such quantities of serving. The combined efforts of mama and I have accomplished so far. I waist for myself, remodeling two others,
23 dresses, 2 petticoats, 1 coat, and 1 dress remodeled for Jessie, 1 dress for Delphine (we are just beginning on her) and a crocheted jacket for Jessie.I suppose you know that Mrs. Stinson has a daughter, Barbara Vose Stinson, and Florence French Hackett has a son, Fred, after her brother. She had a doctor from Winchendon. She was very sick. They e
itherized her twice. besides preforming [sic] an operation.To-night is the night of the fore-man's ball. One car has gone up full. I suppose they are expecting to have a great time. I did not go as I didn't feel as if I could possibly afford it.
Mr. Alfred Lane has sold his place to a man from Royalston. His name is Richardson, and he is to take possession at once. I wonder where they will go?
Mr. Waldo Newton's place is also sold to a man whose name is Hiccock. There are four in the family. A man and his wife and a grown-up son and daughter.
Mr. and Mrs. Noyes have moved to Athol. He has work on the Athol and Orange car line.
Amy Powers is married to a Mr. Webb of East Templeton. Her parents didn't know any thing about it, as they were very much opposed to him. So she was married at his home very quickly. They spent a few days in Boston, and then returned to his home where they are traveling. She is still working in Rands.
The children are still at home. I have been trying to get my house-cleaning done. I have it pretty well cornered up now. I have moved up-stairs to sleep, and find it very pleasent. [sic] The little room down-stairs I am going to use as a sewing room, I think that it will be quite courént. [?]
Mr. Isac [sic] Bourn left no will. So Mr. Q. T. Bourn and Mr. George Bourn have been appointed administrators.
With love,
Edie.
