Dear Lucy:-

I have nothing to say but I suppose I can take a couple of pages to tell you so. I have been painting a marigold and I don't know whether the stem is green or blue. The original was very wilted. I think the frost had nipped it some and it was about a half of its natural size. Nobody would guess what it was. They might think it was a dandelion! I have an invite to a Hallowe'en party at Florence Taylor's next Friday night. Do you expect to carry on out there and see ghosts and find out who [m]y "feller" is? I went egg-hunting" yesterday (a common occurence [sic]) and landed at Mrs. Jennie Cobleigh's. She told me to tell you that she had your Sunday School class but it was only as a substitute. It was still your class and you would have to look after Christmas presents for them. You would have a much better chance. Which way does your window face? East; West; North, or South? Elsie Maynard was at church to-day but I didn't have a chance to see her. What studies do you take? I want to know "dreffly" as everybody asks me. The Parkhusts have painted their house a real bright yellow "Wouldn't that jar you?"

Linnie spent most of last week at Marion Stone's as Mr. & Mrs. Stone were away. G.H.S. foot-ball team played as Keene yesterday and got beaten "of course". "Gene" wrenched his knee last week and got a black eye. He did the same Friday. Mr. Fred Stone told Linnie that he didn't think that Gene would be able to go away from town to-day. Linnie told him she didnt [sic] care which shocked him greatly.

With love,
