May 22nd 1903.My dear Neice [sic]
The day I spent with you at the College is such a delightful memory that I shall always rejoice that you are there & I do most earnestly hope that you will have health & strength to graduate: as that will be such a life long pleasure to you & I do really think you have qualities that might give you a position as "College Pres." any way my dear girl aim high & you may reach the goal. I promised the Amherst cousins to visit them this fall again & if I do shall certainly come out to see you, & I hope you will get acquainted with the cousins there. Please remember me kindly to Miss Carter, Miss Moore, your two roommates, Miss Brown & Miss Spring, also Miss Fairbanks.
I read the account of your pretty "Ivy Day celebration" in the Worcester paper. I read everything about your College that I see & it means so much more to me because you are there. A note from Aunt Ada saying that all in E. Templeton were well as usual since my return[.] I went to Springfield by Trolley via. So. Hadley Saturday May 9th wished I might have a glimpse of you as I saw numerous groups of young ladies as I changed cars there but not my neice: [sic] it is a lovely trip from Amherst to Springfield & only 25 cts. - that must mean only 15. from So. Hadley & I hope you can take it, it is very charming to take a transfer for West Springfield & go to the end of the line if you were going just for the ride. Ever your loving Aunt
Augusta M. Loring.
