A Letter Written on Dec 2 and 3, 1907

Dear Miss Baker;

Your card reached me while I was home on Thanksgiving vacation. I was quite surprised to find it waiting for me.

Only three weeks until Xmas. and then I suppose you will be with us?

Both Miss Roberts and Miss Pease left town for the vacation. Miss Roberts was to return today bringing her mother with her for a little visit. (she is the only child you know, and her mother is a widow) Miss Pease was expected back Sat. but she has not yet appeared. (8:15 A.M.) Mr. Betts will have to start school without either of them.

Mrs. Haskell has left town also and I understand she is not coming back so you see there are only three regular teachers. Ruth Ballard has sewing twice a week that is all.

Have you had snow? We had quite a bit Wed. and some of it still remains here on the hill but it is all gone from the "lower regions." It snowed a little this A.M., but the sun is shining now.

Wed. P.M. we had exercises in my room. They were good too. I was proud of my children. We had twenty visitors. Well, I will go to school now and conclude this epistle tonight.

I have about ten minutes in which to 'conclude' my epistle.

Olive Noelette is away this week so I am going to sleep with Abbe tonight. She slept with me last night.

I had a very pleasant time home Thanksgiving, and I am sure I must have weighed considerably more when I came back than I left town.

Bye the way Mr. Chapin and family are going to Phillipston as soon as possible. Don't know who will take his place here. Probably will candidate for a while. Goodnight I must leave you. Write soon and remember me to all please.

Lovingly yours,
Olive B.
