Yours received we were so glad to hear from you and to know how you are situated I think your room must be all you could ask for the view must be fine I enjoy a view on the water very much - so think I would like it I meant to go up to see your mother this last week but did not get there We had a call from Carrie Manning and Lorenzo's sister Ann she was a lively girl and still keeps so she has seven children and her youngest daughter is an Actress she is traveling in the West now will be gone some time she is seventeen and Carrie said her duaghter [sic] boarded in Gardner at Mr. Meals works for her board a nice chance for her she does not have to get up early to catch a car - We have had no trouble as yet last week they got short of coal but more came before they were quite out I have seen nothing in the papers but what South Hadley had a supply of fuel but a good many towns it looks as if they might have trouble to keep all the public buildings warm I did not attend church as it was decidedly rainy our service was not till afternoon the Elder was here Aunt Augusta was here one day last week she is staying with Aunt Mary some of the time but I think she cannot must longer she wants to be in Holden they have Whist Clubs Readings Circles &c. and she belongs to them so of course she prefers to be present Do you like having dinner at six o'clock and do you have plenty to eat and things that you like we have just tried something new to us. it is called Ready Bits perhaps you have eaten it we like it very well for a change - We are expecting Mary Warean to come and stay a week or more now soon she was here when you went away but she had to go to Hubbardston on business and then return here - I am going to have a new dress will enclose a sample I sent to Amherst for it

We are expecting Mary Brown & Fidelia Fisher to visit us now soon after that we will settle down for winter I am seating so you see I will probably be rich when spring comes We have plenty of apples hope to sell them there was a man here yesterday to look at them -
It is nearly time for the Wellington Club to begin its meetings that is the most I go but I enjoy it very much - Mother sends love and says tell you she was very glad to hear from you and we hope to hear from you again soon
