A Letter Written on Aug 31, 1906

748 Asylum Ave. [Hartford, Conn.]

Dear Miss Baker:

I was very glad to hear from you and glad you are to return to New Salem.

I heard from Mr Putnam a short time ago and saw Mr Pratt this week so I am sufficiently informed of my reelection. I shall go back another year but with small enthusiasm (between ourselves) for I really dread that high school - those new boys wont make matters easier for me.

Mr Pratt says the new principal is a Mr Taylor I believe - he didn't mention his state or age. I hope we will like him as well as Mr Cambridge and that he will have a fine influence over those boys.

Well good bye till next week Thursday.

Cordially yours
Helen W. Traver
