A Letter Written on Jan 27, 1907

Worcester, Mass.,
Jan. 27th 19067.

Dear Cousin Lucy,

I thought it was about time to write & thank you for the Christmas book you & Mary sent me. Had so many letters to write thought would let you wait & you might like a letter after you got back to your school. Presume you get very tired with the excitement in that town. is [sic] it snowed under & over now[?] We have been having quite a snow storm here not that there is such an awfull [sic] lot for the length of time it snowed but enough for sleighing. You see Minnie baby & her sister Mrs Dyer came down Wed. PM & went back Friday P.M. so it thought it would snow_ [sic] & it was awfully cold the day they came & next.

Took my afternoon out Thurs. & we done up the stores. Cousin Esther staid at home to care for baby: hope they did not any of them get cold or sick. The baby has grown quite a bit since I saw her at seven weeks old. Wonder if Aunt Carrie is in Boston to day, it is nice and sunshines here.

I have had a great time this morning chasing up girls & men new men & did not gather up the clothes bags for laundry. My last new girl is to[o] slow the others are slow but she beats them all. I have half of another house to look out for now do not enjoy it have a girl for half each day extra so afraid there will be to[o] much help in this place. I get very tired & feel like fireing [sic] the job.

I get out very little Esther & I went to a concert two weeks ago to given by Clark College Glee Club we enjoyed it much. I did so want to go to Templeton to Christmas & see you all but impossible.

With love
Emma.
