A Letter Written on Mar 3, 1907

Templeton, Mass.,
March 3, 1907.

Dear Sister:-

It falls to my lot to write to you once more. The Doctor thought that Mama had better not come down stairs lest she take more cold and he wanted her to stay in bed as much as possible so she is obeying orders. Her throat is much better and the Doctor gives her something to keep her from coughing nights. If she is careful I think that she will get along all right now.

I made a squash pie yesterday. I didn't know how to do it but it turned out, looking fine and tasting fairly good.

I believe I said I would tell you about the installation. It was supposed to begin at 1:30 but it didn't until two. You know (or perhaps you don't) that I did so wish that Mr. Griffin would be there. I forgot all about it at the last but imagine my delight when I saw that he was to give the right hand of fellowship. He was the youngest by far of the ministers there but he had about the most important part and when he spoke one forgot he was young. He is thin[n]er than when he was here in the summer but he was just as nice. The Stone family all beamed when they he was speaking. The organ didn't give out during the songs. Mirabile dictu. It did during the sermon but that did no harm. There were quite a number of people there - nearly as many from the other sides as of our people. Cousin George sung a solo which was fine and I never heard Cousin Mary sing so lovely as she did during an anthem. Dinner was served befor[e] the installation & lunch after it so the ministers were well fed.

It was communion to-day & as I didn't want to sit way up front & march out so I sat with Lucius & Dorothy & we all came out to-gether. Only a very few people stayed. The older Skerrye boy read all through the sermon. He must have learned lots from it.

The show Friday night was better than I expected. We went about quarter of eight & the hall was so full we had to sit on the side. Frank & Eva sat with us. Both the ministers were there so we were in good company. I suppose we learned lots about the moon, sun, Mars, et cetera.

Mustn't you have been pleased when you found Mr. W was guest of honor. Sans doute il est heureux. Mama said to tell you that she was awful glad you had had scarlet fever. I am so glad that Miss Bliss is coming back.

Hasn't it been slippery! I was in at Eva's yesterday A.M. and she told me that when Frank started out he went down & slid along down the path while his dinner scattered. I should liked to have seen him. I did see portions of his dinner.

I will write again in a few days.

With love,
From Molly.
