Monday P.M.Dear Lucy -
I have a few spare moments at the office before it is time to go to supper, so will write you a few lines.
Mama was pleased to hear from you. Am glad you arrived home safely.. As you asked about our trip thought I would write you about it.
We did not go to Huntington as it was too late when we arrived in Westfield. We took the trolleys from Northampton to Holyoke then out to Westfield arriving there about 3.15. We found the next car left for Huntington at four o'clock and it is an hours ride, so concluded we had best not go. We took a car and went to Springfield had supper there and returned by trolley through the notch arriving home a little after eight o'clock. We had a very pleasant trip. I think we will have to postpone the Huntington trip until another summer, as I do not enjoy riding on the closed cars very well.
Mama went to Springfield yesterday for a few days. I had planned to go with her and spend the day but had a headache and could not go. Edd went with her. I was rather dissappointed [sic] as it proved to be such a beautiful day.
Lena worked in the telephone office all day. She commenced this week working only in the afternoon.
Aunt Mary Brown and family are well.
Well it is time to go to supper so will bring this to a close.
Think Mama will answer your letter before long.
Sincerely yours
Mary FisherAmherst Mass.
