A Letter Written on May 3, 1906

Templeton, May 3, 1906.

Dear Lucy,

I will stop in the midst of my ironing to say that the last car comes from Athol at 8-30, as it has during the winter - that is it starts from Athol at ten minutes before eight. I shall look for you at 6-30 Friday night unless I hear from you. I understand from your letter that you have received a summons from Mr. B-, and of course when he says the word, you must start. I expected he would send, by what he told Mary, though he did not tell her to send you word. Everybody is well as usual, and some are better. Will tell you the rest.

Much love,
Mama.

Did you get wet going home last night?

[A second short letter was enclosed with this one.]

Dear Lucy:-

Don't be alarmed at this note but I want something. You remember the place in your Class book where favorite expression, & such things were given, don't you? Well, do you suppose you can get time to copy off just the heads of the columns so perhaps I could get an idea for something new in the Grind department. I are [sic] getting favorite songs to-night & I have "raked" my brains until I haven't an idea left. Expect to see you soon.

With love,
Molly,

P.S. Mr. B- & I have had a conflab [?] & I guess I will take New Salem or the C.O.G. for my subject. I know of nothing more interesting
