A Letter Written on Jun 14, 1906

[Some paragraph marks added for ease of reading.]

Templeton, June 14, 1906.

Dear Lucy,

I will write just a few lines and you may not hear from me again till you come home. Mary asked Gregory about the Amherst exams. and they are the 19th, 20th, 21st-22nd of June. Gregory takes his in Gardner.

Carrie says she thinks your beads are too long - that she thinks 14 or 15 inches are what are worn. Mary's are 16, but her neck is larger than yours - she has strung some to show you how you can string them to make them look more like a necklace - you can put more than one bead beth between if you like.

Carrie is going to make you a girdle so you need not make over your old one. I did not ask her to do it. Mrs. Parker came in for about two hours and helped me on M's dress this afternoon. Miss Maria Cutting is very feeble - probably will not live but a few days; and Mr. Cutting is in bed and has no appetite.

I don't know of any news and must not stop to write longer. You better do as much packing as you can this week Sat, so not to have too much to do next week. How is Willard's essay. Must stop.

Much love -
Mama.
