[Some paragraph marks added for ease of reading]Templeton, Mass.,
May 25, 1903.Dear Lucy:-
I haven't got anything to write so I will scribble a few lines. The Leomonster [sic] boys got the cup as everyone expected. The suits got here just in time or I am afraid that there would have been no drill as everyone of our boys declared they wouldn't go unless they had their suits.
Did you ever know Lucia Eddy? You knew her sister, didn't you? She died last week. She was only absent from school two days. The funeral was this afternoon. The Freshman class went in a body (excepting the Templeton scholars).
I am having lots of new clothes. Mama has finished my pink waist, started my blue one and the white pique and one of those prints that I was to make and got a pattern for the blue print.
I went up to see Edith Friday. Thursday she sent me a bunch of pansies and some gladiola bulbs so I went up to see her and carried her a bunch of lilies. I held the baby for some time. She is real good and doesn't cry at all.
Cousin Moses and Cousin Minnie and Karl and Russel came up yesterday. Karl didn't care to stay in the house except to come into the kitchen and get a cookie. Eva Akers' little niece was over there over Sunday, and Frank was over at his house with her and I was over here with Karl.
Just think! Dwight came over to see me to-day and I think he called me by my first name.
What are we going to get Auntie & Mama?
With love,
Mary
