March 24. 1903Dear
EllaLucyThere you can see what a blunder I made to start with, but Lizzie was talking to me_ We are going in town and she is going to get a new dress so of course her mind is on that and she keeps talking to me[.]
I send you by this mail a stock [no longer with the letter] which I hope you will like for common wear_ It is nothing very nice but will make a change for you, and they are quite handy to slip on when you are in a hurry and I thought you could wear this with any thing you have_
Your mother writes me you are going home the 31st. I am very much disappointed for Im not going to see you if you are at home only two weeks_ I hoped you would not go till a week later and then I would get home to see you the last week.
Wasnt it sad about Cousin Margaret_ It dont seem as though I could have it so - I suppose your Mother has written you about Fred's going to Boston_ I told him sometime when was in Springfield he must go over and call on you_ He would be interested in seeing the College grounds and the girls. He said he would.
I am anxious to know how you and Fred got along, as you said if everything did not go off well I should be to blame for putting you up to it_ Of course I have no doubt but what everything went off all right_ I suppose you are very busy now so you need not write a letter till after you get home, but drop me a postal card to let me know you got this all right, and if it fits. I think you can change the hooks if it does not.
Lizzie is all ready to go as I must close wish lots of love from
Aunt Carrie -
