33 Oakland Terrace
Hartford, ConnDear Lucy:-
Received your letter this morning also one from cousin Lewis Leland's wife written to Lizzie, saying the funeral is at the house. Of course I should want to send flowers and it was all right for you to do just as you have. Am sorry I am away just now but dont [sic] think I will try to go back as I have been here such a short time and could really do no good. Of course you and Emma will go.
Lizzie and I went down town yesterday afternoon for an hour. Fred L came over Sunday night and spent the evening.
If you get time I wish you or Emma would go to that large wooden box in the bottom of my closet (if you can get to it) and get one of those jet and gold bracelets and put it in a box and send it to me I want only one of them. Put it in a good strong box and tie it up securely, and it will come by mail all right. Emma will fix it for you. Put tissue paper around it before you put it in the box so it will not rub and put from box 62 on outside.
You will find the key in one of the middle drawers of my desk where I keep my keys. Think it is loose, not with any other key but may be Something the shape of a door key only smaller[.] If you dont find it
readwithout much trouble let it go. The bracelets are in a small white box. Lizzie says hallo! Emma, and sends love to you both. The wind does not blow today for which I am truly thankful.Lizzie tried to teach me backgammon last night. She didn't have very good success.
With lots of love to all. Keep me posted about Uncle.
