[Some paragraph marks added for ease of reading]Templeton, April 1, 1907.
Dear Lucy,
Perhaps I cannot write so you can read this, but I am going to try. You can see by this that I am much better, though I still play invalid and stay
downupstairs: I don't get a chance very often, you know. I intend to go down before many days, if nothing happens. Were you sick after you got back? Be sure to clear them out of your room so you can do your work and get to bed in season, or your years of teaching will be few. Since I commenced this I have been sewing, or basting. Now about your letter to Aunt Ada. I think what you propose to write is good, though I should say nothing about "understanding how they felt about it." We supposed Ada had written something else to you = that they had not signed your account, not because the acc't was wrong but because they went to a lawyer and he told them the word "final" should not be there, or something like that. But the lawyer told them that there should be a trustee. Ada wishes Warren to be trustee but she had better take it, and I hope you will stick to that. Carrie wrote you because we thought Ada wrote those things and you would be much troubled. She told Ada that you were troubled about their Sat. night call here, and that is the reason Ada sent the second letter. I don't think I need advise you not to keep the money till Mary is of age, (which is their meaning) but don't you do it. Now is the time to fix it right, then have her to do right about it. I don't know whether Mr. Blodgett has the acc't or not. Dont [sic] you believe he is disgusted? It will all come out right in the end. Ada & Warren are learning some things about it that they did not know before.
I will not try to write much more. Thank you for the pretty Easter gifts. Please accept the dotted muslin (when you get it) as an Easter gift from me. I hope you had a pleasant Easter. Mrs. Parker has been sick with stomach trouble - is better but not out yet.
Much love,
Mama.Isn't it too bad about Emma? I am much afraid she will not get better. I have 'pale ale' now, and I like it. Send Miss Bliss home early - don't sit up late with her.
late.
