A Letter Written on Dec 13, 1903

Dear Lucy:-

I will tell you in the beginning that you will not get much of a letter to-night for I have been working hard all day even if it is Sunday. I was sick Friday and didn't go to school until the half past nine car so I don't feel very well yet. Then last week in Drawing Miss Cook told us that we had got to either write a Christmas story or write about a famous picture for English & design the cover for her. I couldn't do very much studying Fri. night and Mrs. Ward was her[e] yesterday so things haven't got done. I think that that picture frame would be just elegant for Auntie if you don't want it yourself. I asked Auntie about Mama's present & she thought that some golf gloves would be very nice & I think so too. That jardinere that we gave Mama last year has come into use at last. Auntie is raising narcisus [sic] in sand and water and to-day she (with my assistance) transplanted them. I don't know what we can get for Uncle.

With love,
Mary.
