A Letter Written on Feb 6, 1910

Templeton, Feb 6. 1910

Dear Lucy:

Should have written you before, but as it did storm a little in the morning Thursday & looked as though it might, most of the day, I thought possibly Mrs T. would not go and you might stay another night, then Friday or Thursday night rather, and it continued Friday morning it snowed here and the wind blew like everything and then I said, if Lucy did not go yesterday, she will not to-day so kept puting [sic] it off - Now if you go to see Mary Tuesday you may not get this, so I am going to write a short letter to you and a little longer to Mary and then you can read it when you get there. I went to church this morning and took the Post Girl in as Lizzie had got out of reading - It was pretty rough and not very good walking - Had a letter from Mary which she wrote Friday and she does not speak of a storm - We had quite a storm here - Willie came and shoveled us out about eleven oclock [sic] Friday morning and he said the mail ad not come up there - The cars got up here late in the afternoon, then the wind blew the snow so the cars did not run, so any one knew when or how they were going to get any where and they have not to-day. They went half way to the fountain this morning - Miss Cole was sick Thursday & Friday so she could not go to school[.] She went to church to-day - Miss Tufts is sick with a cold.

I must stop and go down and stay with Lizzie. She will think she is forsaken. When are you coming home? Your book has come - We were wishing last night you were here to play with us. L sends love.

With lots of love
C.A.M. [Carrie A. Matthews]
