Committee on ScholarshipsJune 16, 1943
Miss Marion F. Baxter
35 Welles Drive
Newington, ConnecticutMy dear Miss Baxter:
The Scholarship Committee takes pleasure in awarding you a scholarship of $200.00 for the year 1943 to 1944. Of this amount $50. will be applied to the first tuition payment, and $150. will be applied to the second tuition payment.
Scholarships are granted annually. Students who apply for scholarships must meet the following grades for a grant for the succeeding year: Freshmen, 75 per cent; Sophomores, 78 per cent; Juniors, 80 per cent, with no conditions or failures.
A scholarship confers honor upon the recipient and the student is expected in her turn to bring credit to the College by her academic standing and character.
Owing to prevailing financial conditions, it is evident that the number of applicants for scholarships is likely for some years to be greater than the funds available can care for adequately. In order that the College may offer scholarships to as large a number of students as possible, the Committee would appreciate it greatly if at some time after graduation you should find it possible to return for the use of some other student any part of the grants made you during your college course.
