Dear Marion,

I received your postcard this morning, and I'm so glad to know that you are able to go up to Holyoke with me. I'm also sorry to hear that you have a cold. Do take care of yourself and get rid of it soon.

I was thinking of taking the 1:30 train from N.Y. on Friday which gets into Holyoke at 5:30. Is that all right by you, or would you rather take the 12:30 train which gets to Holyoke at around 4:45? Let me know which is more convenient for you. Dot wrote to me and said that there's going to be a house dance at the Mandelles, with the boys from preflight Navy school at Amherst as guests. It sounds like fun, if it doesn't turn out like that Westover dance.

I spent most of this past weekend at the beach club. One of my brother's friends who's in the Air Force, had a furlough, and we were busy entertaining him. I think it's really wonderful that you got a promotion and a raise. I really envy you with a job. It looks as if I'll spend the entire summer playing around. I guess I shouldn't complain though, as the weeks seem to be flying bye [sic] so fast. and it won't be long until college opens, so I should be glad to be able to take things easy. I'm still taking my typing lessons, and I'm getting pretty fast at it.

This coming weekend on Friday evening, I'm going to see "Oklahoma". It's supposed to be a wonderful show and I'm looking forward to seeing it. Well, Marion, that's all the news for now, so do write soon.

Love,
Carol
