A Letter written on Aug 5, 1943

Dear Marion -

The summer seems to be just flying. I've meant to write for ages, or try & call you up.

I saw you in Fox's about a week & a half ago, at noon. I was going up the escalators & you were walking along the main floor. But I couldn't catch your eye.

I'm working, but I can't say hard. More a case of putting in time. I get thro [sic] a week from Sat. & go back to college the 24th of Aug. When do you go back? Early?

The mane [sic] purpose of this note is to ask if you can meet me some noon for lunch. That's the only way I'll be able to see you, I'm afraid. Either drop me a note or call me at 2-6161 & let me know. It will have to be next week. I can go to lunch at any time.

Saw Gloria Bevan the other day. She's getting thro the 15th, too.
