A Letter written on Aug 20, 1943

Dear Marion,

How cruel of me not to have answered you until this late date! I have millions of things to tell you, which you probably know already from the other kids.

Mary Lou come [sic] up & we went down to N.Y.C. together [I cut Fri.] and Evie met us at Grand Central & the 3 of us had a gay old time together.

I'm so sorry you got all bitten up. I don't think anyone else did. Just for you, in your memories, never again will I set foot into the Strand Theater. (Suffolk?)

Summer school ends for me next Monday when I have 2 exams. Then I go home for 6 days, then back again to take, you know what!

Tell me, are you coming to N.Y.C.? If you are, I hope I will get to see you since I have to study for the --- thing! I haven't even been tutored. Have you quit your job yet? Selma has, & has arm trouble. Poor kid. She can't write or anything. The last time she wrote it was affecting her feet.

Love,
Junie

P.S. For a while we thought they were going to make Mountain View into a Freshman dorm for the extra Freshmen but Miss Vorhees says they are using the ones the Marines vacated instead. I don't know whether to believe her or not.
