Dear Charles,
The bell is just ringing for a lecture on the comparison of Xtian and Greek Ethics - Guess I will not go. The Juniors have been spinning their tops since supper. Last evening the seniors jumped rope in their caps and gowns, an accomplishment which is not easy to acquire. This morning I spent a couple of hours and five dollars on the dentist. It has been about three years since I made him my last visit. Your letter came yesterday mo[rning?] Monday.
My table presented me with pinks and pansies and the last table had a spread Saturday evening so I feel appropriately old[.] As you say it would not be wise to say anything to Exeter about your loan. Doesnt it seem odd for a man dealing in millions to want a few hundred.
You are still sure I suppose that the work there is what you want and that you run a chance of getting work there. Mrs. Mead is back from the missionary conference enthusiastic on the near triumph of Xtianity. Bertha Blakely says she was sure she saw you in Church at Washington.
Good Bye Seraph
