Newburyport Nov. 9. 1850

My dear daughter:-

We received your [letter] yesterday, and was glad to find you well, mother and aunt Gerrish was were down to see aunt Leah [?] yesterday and to day she is busy, wants me to write you but I am so much engaged yet in my business that I have but little time now to write, hope I shall do better by and by. We are thinking of coming up to see you the last of next week if I can conveniently leave my business so whatever you want us to get and bring when we come you had better write and let us know pretty soon after receiving this, there will be some uncertainty of course about our coming at present but it is possible, If we do not come we shall send the carpet and other things soon.

Your aff[...] Father
