Holyoke June 29, 1849.Dear Mother
I suppose you will feel rather anxious if you do not get a letter from us to-morrow morning, but it will have to be a short one. I should have written Wednesday, but I thought Mary was going to, and then I forgot all about it till after we went to bed last night. Mary said we must send one this morning, but she had no time to write, so I thought I would write a few words. It is only about ten minutes before breakfast, and the letters go right after breakfast[.]
Where is Lizzie Stevens that she has not got here? we [sic] expected her Wednesday. If she has not come when you get this letter, I hope you will write and let us know about it, but we shall hope to see her before that. Next Wednesday is the fourth of July I believe, what is going to be done at home! It happens to come on our recreation-day, or I suppose we should have school exercises as usual.
Are you not calculating to be here at Anniversary? it [sic[ is only five weeks from yesterday.
Mrs. Conditt is expecting you, and would like very much indeed to have Mr. & Mrs. Campbell come, don't you think they will? I hope you will write in your next letter what you think about coming, we shall expect to see you here. We are both very well. The weather has not been so warm this week as last, and to-day it is real cold and rainy .. The breakfast bell will ring in a minute and I can't write more.
Suez.
